So still figuring this out as I go. I am feeling the exhilirating terror of my job a bit today. For those who read & pray - for prayer:
* Finding an expositor for Urbana is a weighty task & I'm feeling the weight!
* Finding a good rhythm of work - meaning, knowing when to just let go of things & when to hold on so that I am doing the things I'm called to do - is a challenge
* Meetings, travel & some more meetings - pray for space and time to reflect, think & pray
Thank you!
I'm off to North Carolina next week, which I'm really looking forward to (although I've yet to check the weather!). We (a couple of colleagues & myself) will be meeting with Jim Thomas, Professor of Epidemiology at UNC & Mission Pastor at Chapel Hill Bible Church, to talk about an HIV/AIDS track at Urbana. Then I'll stick around to see old friends, talk to others about what I'm up to in InterVarsity these days & wander around the halls of the new Divinity School building at Duke a bit just to see who I run into.
Also next week - I turn 28. Depending on who I'm around that feels either very young or a little old. Mostly it feels very young, but occasionally I realize that it's not my early 20s anymore and I really am getting older. Sobering, since I'm not sure that I'm maturing. But I comfort myself that maturity is harder to see in oneself - I trust I really am maturing.
